How to Stay Safe When Traveling Abroad for Cosmetic Surgery

The idea of flying to a lush location, relaxing in the sun for a few days and coming home with a brand-new body can be very appealing. But, while an increasing number of people are traveling abroad for cosmetic surgery, there’s a lot that can go wrong if you’re not careful. If you’re considering medical tourism for your cosmetic procedure, then it’s important to be fully aware of the risks involved and know what you need to do to stay safe.

#1. Research Beforehand:

For the most part, people who travel abroad for cosmetic surgery do so because of much lower prices abroad. After all, the fat transfer to breast Thailand price is usually far lower than what you could expect to pay in countries such as the U.S., UK and Australia, for example. But no matter how appealing a certain place or price for your procedure seems, it’s crucial to do your homework first so you know exactly what you’re getting into. Don’t gamble on your safety or appearance; make sure that you research the clinic, surgeons, and procedure beforehand. If you can, speak to people who’ve undergone treatments there and ask whether or not they would recommend it.

#2. Understanding the Risks:

There’s some level of risk with any cosmetic surgery, but when you travel abroad there are even more risks to contend with. For example, it’s usually impossible, or at the very least difficult, to visit the surgeon or view the operating facility ahead of time without booking a vacation. And, you may be unfamiliar with the healthcare and legal systems of the country that you’ve chosen for your procedure. Additionally, there’s the issue of being away from home and the people and places that you’re familiar with while you recover from surgery.

#3. Taking Extra Precautions:

Because of the additional risks that come with traveling abroad for cosmetic surgery, it’s a wise idea to take as many extra precautions as you can to ensure that you’re safe and able to recover well. Bear in mind that certain countries, particularly those that are famous for offering cheap cosmetic surgery options, may not always hold doctors or clinics to the same rigorous standards of cleanliness, staff qualification or emergency preparations as you are used to at home. You should also consider the environment that you’ll be in when you’re recovering, too – you may need to have extra immunizations several months before your trip.

#4. Being Ready to Fly:

Last but not least, it’s important to be prepared if you’re going to be flying home soon after your procedure. In some cases, it may not be safe; you’ll need to be ready to stay in your destination for a while if this is the case. Flying after surgery can increase your risk of deep vein thrombosis, so if you have no other choice, it’s a wise idea to get up and stretch your legs on the flight as often as you can, while drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Why High Necks Are in Fashion

Fashion fads tend to come and go as quickly as the season’s change, which is great news because it means that whatever style you happen to favor will be catered for at some point. Right now, the latest fashion must-have look is the high neck. Where did this trend come from?

High-neck designs have always been around in the fashion background; think polo neck in winter or the Victoriana. However, like ruffled necklines popularised by the early fashion style of the late Princess Diana, it’s only quite recently that they have been incorporated into a wider range of lines, from the catwalk to high street. Here are some possible reasons for this trend.

High-neck clothes are versatile

Designers might come up with a high-neck top without sleeves, for example, extending its use beyond sweaters in the coldest months. Close-fitting polo necks can also be worn underneath or over favorite items, such as a black maxi dress, to create layers for the cooler months.

High neck clothes are appealing to all ages

For the younger clientele, high-neck tops and dresses may be just a comfortable fashion item, but there are plenty of older people who are fashion-conscious but also nervous or uncomfortable about showing too much of their neck.

High-neck clothes are very wearable

It’s easy to wear a high-neck outfit to nearly every occasion and not run the risk of being over- or underexposed. Another great feature of high-neck styles is that you can buy a couple of statement pieces and really mix and match to pair them with lots of your current wardrobe staples. The basic rule to keep in mind is to look for contrast. So, for example, a chunky knit cowl neck sweater shines when teamed with a slim-fitting skirt or pair of trousers or jeans. Meanwhile, a high-neck, the close-fitting short jacket looks fab with something like a black maxi dress available at AX Paris, avoiding an oversized top half paired with flowing bottom half.

High-neck clothes can look incredible in any one of a dozen or more combinations, and they are able to transition throughout the seasons perfectly. Best of all, they look good on everyone, regardless of their age or body shape. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that they are the fashionista’s choice for 2019!
